Tomorrow will be my last day of class for my first semester [Fall 11'] at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and it almost feels like nothing lol! Well, by nothing I mean doesn't feel sad, but like weight will be lifted. During my undergrad education, when it was time to leave school for winter break, usually it was at the PERFECT time to do to drama, and annoying people. But yet, it was kinda sad parting ways. HERE... HELLO NO! Lol, life goes on and moves so fast I feel like im going to have a weekend off! But KUDOS TO ME! I have survived a semester in school, work and an internship in New York City/ New Jersey... now time to push myself more. Almost a full resident! lol Watch me work ;)

So I was just catching up on my Phick (Phyliss & Nick) clips and I decided to post this (versus the many pathetic clips like this one). She is making me so mad! If you follow the Nick & Phyliss relationship on Y&R you know that it's Phyliss that has been pushing Nick away. First and foremost, although I love Nick & Phyliss's relationship ( well I did in the beginning) and I cant stand Sharon... never really have; Phyliss did take Nick out of a marriage. He was a married man for Christ sake! So it was only justice that he do the same to her that he did to his wife... cheat. He never had a chance to fall out of love with Sharon because Phyliss kind of swooped in while they were married. Although it was mutual, KARMA IS A BITCH! But in the last year I have witnessed Nick fall back in love with Sharon or continue to protect her, not as a husband would but a loving and supportice ex-husband and father should. Phyliss is so insecure (and she should be, it's Karma) that all she sees is Nick not wanting to let go of SHaron. Phyliss should have been going to see a counselor as well, now that I think about it. But now they are separated I think she is 80% to blame. She should definitely be more understanding since she did break up there marriage, and also since she has a child. But everytime Nick was concerned about Sharon, Phyliss wanted to argue and accuse of not being able to let her go. What is he to do though, just say whatever. Nick has always been a good guy, and a softie so that's all he knows is to care about those he loves. Yes, he still does love Sharon but he was IN LOVE with Phyliss. I do admit, I see why Phyliss broke down at time, after all there was that Paris kiss and they slept together. But in the end, being understanding and supportive goes alot further than arguments and accusations. Watch this clip and you will get me... I hope there is a future together for these two.

Welp, sorry to lead you on but I have absolutely nothing! LOL I thought I found a link 2.5 hrs after the new episode of True Blood, but boy was I fooled. It was last week's episode. But umm what to look forward too... sex, vampires, wolves, less disappointment and more sex! CANT GO WRONG HERE! Although boredom is a despised friend of mine, I am very thankful for boredom or else I never would have taken my sisters suggestion to watch the series. Since fall 2009 me and True Blood have been a match made in heaven. If I wasn't such a Twi-Heart, I would probably bad mouth the films depiction of the trilogy. But I love Stephanie, Catherine, Chris and now Melissa (that I know of). I just wish they would take a more realistic view of the world in forks through the lens like True Blood, of course it's impossible because of the young fan base (fuckin babies!). Sorry, back to the subject at hand... True Blood has never EVER let me down, every episode is a cliff hanger and leaves me on the edge of my seat awaiting a new trailer for the next episode. But tonight actually didn't end with a cliff hanger, but rather wanting something um hung (?). LMAO! Ok enough night. Oh and Jason Stackhouse new love interest is... uh, can we say trailer park trash. But she's definitely a step up from debbie lol.

I think I gave this blog post the proper title and by the non reality show Im referring to the VMA awards. This was so not the Video Music Awards that you vision, this was one of the many MTVs scripted but not scripted "realith" shows. I say this because WHERE THE FUCK were the awards...I mean seriously!?! And where were the deserving winners. Just a few highlights [since this post wasn't in my next 30 minute plans]. Kanye West: ok he messed up, it was rude, she's innocent, he's emotional, "When the Henney's in the system...leave anything out? Nah, no one died that's the biggest thing well not intentionally anyways. LEAVE HIM ALONE ALREADY. Yeah it was stupid but his outburst and Gaga were about the only highlights of the night oh and let's not forget the tribute. If you have made the stupid decision to not support him or his music anymore than that's YOUR lost...his career will continue to move upward and onward because I support him. Afterall no one else questioned that award? He jsut beat you to the punch, but like I said when the "HENNEY'S IN THE SYSTEM"!

So yes it is 1:49 in the morning and I just started drinking not to long ago lol *EXCITING* but anywho i am a little pissed because I recently became a member of myblogsite.com. Through this blogsite I had planned to organized my thoughts, one would be for the worldly, media issues and concerns the other would be for my own personal struggles, opinions and thoughts. But it's down for some odd reason. Well my sister (Rose) is on her way from Bowling Green, KY im excited about that but worried that she is gonna judge since I don't have a bed (seriously) im a very self conscious person idk...hope she doesn't tho. But yeah her Megan and Brian will be down and Ebony can't party but Lindsey is here so it's cool. Another concern is that it is so suck flipping boring in frankfort, I could cliff dive with no support for fun, but I am gonna try and finish this bud so I can lean a little lol.

Today was also the 2nd day in the 2nd week of band camp (*tear*) but I kept having these thougts to march, I would really like to but something is seriously convincing to do otherwise and I think it's because HE know that I will get sidetracked. I will support them like I have been doing during band camp and be there to help and show my support. They are getting new uniforms hopefully and there are other changes [which im excited about] being made.

I recieved an email from Betsey Johnson for an internship with the company it was in response to an inquiry I had. But it was so exciting to see that I recieved a response the only problem is the money. I could care less that it's during the fall but it's in NYC and it's not paid...yeah right! If I was rich I would be there without a doubt about it, but im not though I think I will submit the applicatin because you never know what could happen or what deals they make for you. Anywho that's it for the night...

Ok so Diddy premiered his latest reality baby "Making His Band" on MOnday July 27th, this delves into the life of the fashion/entertainment/business mogul as he journeys to create a new album with a new sound as he searches for band. The show was, shall I say, KICK ASS! Maybe being a musical guru such as myself I MEAN I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SHOW! Every aspect of it is great because it not only focuses on Diddy and his domineering smooth yet arrogant attitude but it focuses on the artist and music; well this what I believe have made all of his shows hits. Even if the groups haven't lasted i.e. 'Making the band 2' and 'Danity Kane' the music is what opens up the audience and captures us to watch for more. I am dealing with a dilema of how to get my hair for this coming school year. Anyone that knows me can see that I obviously love hair, I have everything under the sun on my head from locs to a quick weave. I just love black hair and the things that we can do to it, for accentuation or personality/mood. Right now I am sporting a afro I have been natural going 4 1/2 years, but I still get artificial hair put in from time to time for the look and convenience. Anywho, I need to reinvent myself somewhat, everyone has seen me with the fro, but this is my last year [or should be anyways] of undergrad and I want to come and leave with a bang. So im think mohawk, bad ass sew-in, micros or idk...should I just touch up my color? hmmph....

Ok I have been a big fan of music since I was born from the group 'Subway' & young Monica of the 90s to Kanye of the millenium. Music is a major part of my world past, present and future...when I think of music Hip-Hop comes to my mind first. Not because im an african american but because it isn't just a genre to me but a way of life, movement, a style, a talk, a dress, a swag. One of the people who are Hip Hop to me is Rhianna. Rhianna came onto the seen in the early part of the 21st century with this wackness called "pon de replay". It was a bit horrible well to me anyways and I know good music, but in any sense I her grow from that to Good Girl Gone Bad. That is exactly what happened, when it come to her music and style she has made a complete 160*. degrees. Her music "Rehab" explains how she was all into a guy, he was so addicitve her own personal heroin so to speak. She continues to reinvent her look, this I adore the most. Making so many different transitions within this black is the new black movement, she is a dark angelic princess, from the short black bob, to the black beaufant mohawk she now rocks...her style is PURE GENIUS. I absolutely adore every facet of her fashion, especially being that fashion is one of my passions. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT COMES. Above are some of her oldy but goody looks of today....

So much to do so little time

Yes I know it's been just about centuries since i've updated you or graced with my wonderful thoughts but i've been on a roller coaster this summer. It seems like summer school just started yesterday and then next week will be finals! But im definately ecstatic to get the hell outta here...for a month!

Well by my calculations when it come to my credit hours I have that there is only 22 more credit hours left for me to take which IM STOKED ABOUT! But like I have continued to say, there is always a surprise usually for an eager senior, so im trying to figure out now what that will be. But it seems so unreal and bittersweet. TRUST, im ready to be out but im scared of what the future holds and actually if ill be able to get away from KY. Ihave many plans...beginning with this internship with the University of Dreams. If I get this it will be EXCELLENT! It's the money tho, im freakin broke. But im gonna pray on that, then there is graduate school or my professional designation. Im looking at attending FIDM in Fall '10' but once again money is a major issue. The program of choice though is perfect for me.

Ill let you in first on what it is I wanna do. I want to style, whether is a fashion editor for shoots, a personal stylist, ill even be a buyer but yes something where I giving advice on what to wear and putting pieces together...that's what I do see, AND IM DAMN GOOD AT IT! But the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising offers a professional designatin in Visual Communications. This is a one year program which is perfect [straight to the point], I can get it and get out. It's just the money. Im worried and now trying to apply for scholarships but even that's a tough job. But I feel that if I have to take out a loan, I don't want to but this will be to get the proper tools ill need for a future in fashion which will guarantee me major cash flow to pay the loans off right!? HOPE SO! Because if I don't get any outside help from scholarships or winning the lottery that's what im doing, im getting the hell outta here. Simply relocating is not enough, I need fashion it's sort of my life.... So without the skills I earn at FIDM im nowhere but in a nasty fastfood resteraunt probably wearing a black apron, slip resistant shoes, and a bow tie. Can we say GROSS!!

On the road...post graduation.

Ok so I know I have been away from awhile so I decided to pay you a visit. Like I was saying earlier I have been looking at different art institute to attend post graduation and I have come across some very interesting, exciting and helpful information. I will start with the locations: I know I am very eager [for some reason] to go to Boston, MA. I have no clue why, well I sort of due and it's far from fashion but my fascination is pulling me there. Then there is California of course, with it's "HILLS" of flash...this would be one of the more obvious areas to study. Then there are more obvious places to study such as nyc, florida and chicago, but the price of living is something that I definately have to take into consideration.

Many questions to ponder when making a decision like if I were to go to one of these areas which are all costly, do I apply for jobs first and foremost so I can be secure in whereever I decide to go? Do I see who is offering the most money for school, or do I go where the opportunity to make it in my field leads me?

What's the Weight?!?

It is no surprise that I have had a battle with weight since childhood some would say...but is it actually a battle, I would have to beg to differ. In todays society it is a requirement for certain careers(modeling, swimming, performance) to be stick thin or at least attempt to be, this seems to also hold true for young women that are in search of a husband. But is it that big of a deal, weight that is. Well I see how easy it is to get sucked in to the idea that with a size 2 waist comes happiness, but I don't believe this is to be true.

We see it everywhere television, in the sizes that are carried in stores, school, even for many the household...there is a definate pressure to be thin. I too have thought about this fact plenty of times, but in the end whether I succumb to the societal pressure to be thin, I don't think that this would make me happy. This has to be something someone wants for themselves, no one else but self. Being a size 2 may make you happy when you look into the mirror, but it's the person you are inside that makes for a life of enjoyment or misery.

I admit that I have previously been on a fast for a few weeks sticking to a no meat restriction, I have also tried to diet before...what a struggle that was; the lack of motivation within myself was the cause. This motivation was lacking because, I feel that it has not held me back from anything in life, I am happy and still find affordable items to dawn on my body everday, therefore no need to drop the pounds. But health wise, yes, I do believe that doing body or master cleansing is very important to purifying and getting all the nasty stuff out of your system. This is the only part of dieting I would consider to everyone that is ok with haveing a few extra pounds or being over a size 8, especially if there is no access fat or anything that needs to be covered up.

I just think the key to let the pressure to be thin, surpass your need for happiness, is to find what it is within yourself that you like, and that attracts others(friends,family and loved ones) to you then you will be happy for that and that alone. Full Satisfaction!

Monday, April 27Th, was a day of reckoning some may say; the 2009-2010 school year S.G.A Executive Board Members were announced. The office everyone anticipated Miss KSU had been announced and the winner was no other than a Elizabeth Martin. To much shock it's been less than 24 hours and FB has been going bananas on the KYSU network with dismay and concern over the election results. Why, you ask? Elizabeth Martin is a Caucasian female, and Kentucky State University is an Historically Black College & University. This may not seem like that big of a deal until you look on the core and the foundations that this institute had been built on and why. It's way bigger than race but it's a fight that we as African American have fought long and hard for to have something(s) of our own.

The office of Miss KSU is an office in which the Miss is to be the face of the university, still with me? This office has been held my 73 (I believe) strong black women, it's a part of our legacy. What a shock this was to me, I have always been brought up and taught of all the struggle my ancestors endured, to get where we as black people can go today. I'm a person that takes pride in such things, but this just put a notch in my stomach. But I say kudos to Elizabeth she accomplished what (not many) but others said shouldn't or wouldn't happen. But what did she endure. I CAN say that I'm not mad at Martin for winning(although I am battling with this) but I am disappointed in our student body. I believe that it says allot about us as a people, although she may have been better qualified for the job[many argue] she is not what the school is.

Many voted not for Elizabeth but against the other candidates, because of envy, jealousy & hate. This is a pivotal moment in our campus history, some are comparing it to Obama, but in no way does it compare. Obama spoke on change which we needed, not because he was black, but because the last president drug this country into a mud hole. But people say these present results are about change, but what change are they talking about? I leave you with this, will this what does this "change" say about the university as an HBCU and it's students? Hmmm I let you think on this one....

My name is Jymil I attend Kentucky State University, I am currently a Mass Communications major with a focus in PR and a Speech Comm minor. Time is approaching for me to decide where my next phase in life will be and I am a little shall I say scared of the road I want to take. I know that there is a Art Institute I want to attend but the affordability, effort and independency is whats got me looking like a dear in headlights.

In my search for an instute with like objectives and areas of study I have decided to begin by choosing locations in the U.S. that I could find myself flourishing in with my chosen field of interest, which is by the way fashion merchandising/styling/coordinating and editing, with a dash of cosmetology. So someplace with diversity, culture, high fashion and room for a spotlight I see: chicago, cali, boston, ny, fla. I am definately keeping my options open when it comes to location, maybe considering a smaller place to start and move my way up.

Who is to say but now i am finishing up my last few weeks of school and then summer classes and on to my last school year. So I will definately, focus on the grades of now and think about my movements of the future...maybe tomorrow!! LOL
